Submission Checklist
Checks before submission in OJS
The checklist is a pre-submission self-assessment instrument and does not replace editorial screening.
The checklist is a pre-submission compliance statement rather than a decorative form. Every item must be verifiable in files, metadata, or documentation. The corresponding author completes it on behalf of all authors.
A false affirmative response may be an ethics breach. The editorial office checks critical items and returns files missing anonymization, declarations, permissions, or essential methodological information.
Before submission
The work is original and is neither published nor under simultaneous review.
The topic addresses a strictly higher education research problem and fits the scope.
The official DOCX template, Calibri 11, and 1.15 line spacing were used.
The file is anonymized and author details were entered separately.
Title, abstract, and keywords are provided in Spanish and English.
APA, 7th edition citations and references were verified.
Tables and figures are numbered, cited, and covered by permissions.
Authorship, originality, conflict, funding, ethics, data, and AI statements are attached.
Supplementary material required for verification is included.
Confirmation
The corresponding author confirms that all coauthors approved the submission and that OJS metadata are complete and accurate.
Scientific relevance
The problem, question, and objective are explicitly educational; the manuscript explains the knowledge gap and original contribution; the design addresses the objective; and conclusions follow from results. Interdisciplinary studies precisely identify the educational dimension assessed rather than merely applying a technique from another discipline.
Integrity and documentation
Funding and conflicts are identified; CRediT is complete; ethics approval or exemption and consent are reported where applicable; data availability is stated; and artificial-intelligence use is disclosed. Permissions exist for third-party material, and there is no simultaneous or redundant publication.
File and anonymization
The manuscript uses the current template, Calibri 11, 1.15 line spacing, and APA, 7th edition. The review file contains no names, affiliations, acknowledgements, identifying metadata, or revealing self-citations. The separate authorship file contains standardized names, affiliations, email, ORCID, and corresponding-author details.
Tables figures and references
Tables and figures are necessary, editable, legible, numbered, and cited in order. Notes explain abbreviations, sources, units, and sample size where relevant. Every citation has a reference and every reference is cited; DOI and bibliographic details were checked against original sources.
Submission confirmation
By completing the checklist, authors confirm that they read the policies, supplied accurate information, and will answer editorial requests. A checked item does not replace documentary evidence or prevent return or rejection for noncompliance.
Final checks before submission
Confirm originality, exclusive submission, and relevance to higher education.
Confirm type, length, structure, language, template, and format.
Verify manuscript anonymization and separation of author data.
Confirm ethics, consent, data, AI, conflicts, funding, and CRediT.
Review tables, figures, supplements, permissions, and accessibility.
Cross-check all APA, 7th edition citations against the reference list.
Open links and DOIs and review metadata before finalizing.
Files to have ready
A dated OJS checklist accepted by the user.
Complete files consistent with each statement.
Attached letters, approvals, and permissions.
Records of technical return and correction where applicable.
Updates to this checklist
The journal updates the checklist when recurring errors appear or policies change. Ambiguous boxes are avoided: every requirement should be a concrete check that authors and editorial staff can verify.
Scope-consistency checks required at submission
Before starting submission, authors check for a substantive higher education question, reasoned fit with at least one of seven areas, original contribution or rigorous synthesis, alignment of objectives, methods, evidence, discussion and conclusions, and explicit limits of transfer. A checked box does not replace editorial screening but helps identify incomplete submissions.
The checklist also verifies Spanish–English title and abstract consistency, full affiliations of every author, file anonymization, CRediT, rights to instruments or photographs, applicable ethics and consent, conflicts, funding, data availability, AI use, licenses and supplements.
Scholarly check before form confirmation
Before confirming submission, authors should be able to state in two or three sentences the higher education problem examined, the gap addressed and the evidence or reasoning supporting the contribution. Completing the form is no substitute for assessing relevance. Causal claims must fit the design, limitations must be reported and cited sources must be verifiable.
Verifiable ethical confirmations
The corresponding author confirms that all coauthors approved the submitted version, that it is not simultaneously under review elsewhere and that funding, conflict, data, ethics and AI statements agree across OJS, forms and manuscript. When a requirement is inapplicable, a clear explanation is provided rather than leaving it blank or fabricating a certificate.
