Publication Frequency

Documented changes in frequency

Sapiens in Higher Education began publication in 2024 on a monthly schedule, which it maintained through December 2025. Since January 2026 it has published semiannually: two issues per year, January–June and July–December. This schedule is reflected consistently in the archive, official website, metadata and bibliographic communications.

Issue opening and continuous publication

The first issue covers January 1 through June 30 and the second covers July 1 through December 31. January 1 and July 1 mark the start of editorial periods, not fictitious publication dates for every article. Manuscripts that complete peer review, acceptance and production may be added continuously to the open issue; each retains its actual publication date.

Scheduling and delay management

Before each calendar year, academic editors set realistic submission, review and production targets for both semesters, reflecting actual capacity. The co-publisher manages issue opening in OJS but publishes articles only after scientific approval and complete metadata. The editor-in-chief monitors case progress. Delays or changes affecting the stated schedule are recorded and publicly explained where relevant.

Migration and bibliographic continuity

The public archive preserves monthly issues from 2024–2025 and semiannual issues from 2026, with continued bibliographic access after migration to https://highereducation.journalsapiens.org/index.php/she. Articles must not be retroactively renumbered or assigned invented dates to simulate regularity. Links, DOIs, volumes, issue numbering, and submitted, accepted and published dates are verified.

Records and accountability

Evidence consists of an approved annual calendar, issue opening dates, actual article dates, a change history, incident logs, approvals and periodic resolution checks for identifiers and metadata. Compliance is assessed against the public archive, not merely institutional statements.

Regularity without retrospective simulation

The semiannual schedule requires a verifiable sequence of two issues per year from 2026. January 1 and July 1 mark the opening of periods, not automatic publication of every article. Later additions show the actual first-publication date. Migration or delays do not justify changing historical dates or adding articles before peer review, acceptance and production are complete.

Editorial planning and continuity

At the beginning of each year, journal leadership reviews submission flow, reviewer availability and production capacity for the January–June and July–December periods. Technical staff verify that issue, volume, year, metadata and DOI agree. When an issue cannot be completed as planned, an explanatory notice and operational corrective action are adopted without concealing the delay.

Editorial dates to preserve

Each article record distinguishes receipt, acceptance and first publication dates where applicable. An issue’s opening date does not replace the actual date when the article first became publicly available. Format conversion or server migration preserves original article information and its volume and issue association. An erroneous date is corrected transparently in the bibliographic record and DOI deposit where relevant.

Public evidence of continuity and oversight

Regularity is checked against the issue archive and articles actually published, not merely scheduled dates or empty issue covers. Each semester, journal leadership verifies that included articles belong to the stated period and that relevant disruption notices were timely. The co-publisher records technical incidents and resolves OJS inconsistencies with editorial authorization, without changing scholarly decisions.
